Krill oil is a new generation of omega-3 fatty acids.

Daily consumption of krill oil capsules can be an excellent choice! Why? Because, according to research, the human body utilizes the omega-3 fats in krill oil more easily and better than the omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil.
For those who have difficulty digesting fish oil, feel free to try krill oil.

What is krill?

Krill is the collective name for short-lived tiny, shrimp-like crustaceans that are found in huge numbers in the world’s oceans, but mostly around Antarctica. Due to their short life and their deep-sea habitat, they are not exposed to environmental pollution, so their “toxin content” is negligible. The oil from tiny crustaceans living in such clear water is therefore very clean and healthy.
There are many valuable nutrients in such high-purity, naturally derived sea crab oil, and the astaxanthin content of the oil is particularly important among them. Astaxanthin is a very effective color antioxidant. This gives algae, salmon and crabs their red color.

Both krill oil and fish oil are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, especially DHA and EPA, which are essential for human health. Omega-3 fatty acids have always been present in human nutrition, but only in recent decades has their important role in maintaining the proper functioning of the body been recognized. Due to their beneficial properties, the level of interest in them has increased significantly these days.

In the list of health claims published by the European Union, the following sentences are included regarding the effects of the omega-3 (and EPA and DHA) fatty acids found in krill oil on the body:

  • EPA and DHA contribute to the proper functioning of the heart – the beneficial effect can be achieved with a daily intake of 250 mg of EPA and DHA.
  • Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function.
  • Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) contributes to the maintenance of normal vision.
  • DHA and EPA contribute to the maintenance of normal blood pressure.

Why is krill oil easier for the body to use than fish oil?

The EPA and DHA found in krill oil are attached to phospholipid* molecule. The beneficial effects of omega-3 fatty acids can best be enjoyed when they are bound in phospholipids. Therefore, unlike fish oil, the body no longer needs to convert krill oil to this form, so it is easier to digest and better utilized.

* Phospholipids are the main components of the cell membrane, they play an irreplaceable role in its structure. Nerve and brain tissue as well as liver and kidney also contain significant amounts of phospholipids. These special and indispensable building blocks are found in all animal and plant cells and perform important biological functions. Phospholipids are also often used in cosmetics because they effectively support the skin’s ability to retain water. The valuable phospholipids of krill oil are not yet known in the world of cosmetics, but it is possible that the cosmetics industry will soon discover this substance.
